Caravan & Motorhome Solar Panel Installation
Solar Panels
We offer a range of solar panels for caravans and motorhomes. Our panels will allow your caravan and motorhome to be constantly recharged when not on electric hook-up. This means that you can continue to power lights, water pumps, TV’s and phone chargers.
Caravan Solar Panels
Using 12v caravan solar panels for your caravan is an ideal way to ensure that your leisure battery is maintained to the highest standard. After a period of little or no use, a solar panel will ensure that the battery is charged. When you are away and parked up you will no longer have to plug into a power source or use a generator as the battery level reduces. We use the highest grade components in all of our systems to make sure that reliability is not compromised.
Motorhome Solar Panels
Motorhomes can be fitted with a charger for 2 batteries. One for the leisure battery and the second output to the motorhome engine battery. You can leave your motorhome in storage and return to a fully charged battery. The alarm will also be fully functional. On site the main focus can be switched to the leisure battery so that it is continually topped up and no electric hook-up will be required. Wild camping is now a real option!
Off Grid Camping
Caravan & motorhome solar panels provide you with the freedom to settle anywhere without a hook-up point. Not only is it more cost-effective, but the solar panels can also store electricity in a leisure battery and release it when an appliance is switched on.
We offer a range of caravan and motorhome roof-mounted solar panels to suit your needs and energy usages. We’ll connect it to ensure safe charging of both the leisure battery and vehicle battery – no longer will you face the issue of a flat battery! We can also offer upgraded controllers to give even more energy to your battery.

FAQ
Take a look at our frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answer to what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
- Will a solar panel keep my battery charged up when in storage?
-
Yes. It will charge the leisure battery on your caravan or motorhome. We can also fit a dual charger to charge both the leisure battery and engine battery on motorhomes.
- Will the solar panel work on a cloudy day?
-
Yes, even on a cloudy day, the battery can be topped up. However the amperage output will be reduced compared to a sunny day.
- Will a solar panel fit onto my roof?
-
Our solar panels will fit onto your roof. Photographs and measurements will help us to decide the largest solar panel that would be available to you.
- Will a solar panel keep my battery charged whilst off grid?
-
This will depend on the size of solar panel that you have fitted and your usage. We would always advise fitting a panel according to your needs. Other measures like changing to LED bulbs will also lower your electricity usage.
- What is the difference between PWM and MPPT controllers?
-
A PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) charge controller will throw away some volts received from the panel. The controller will then turn off input from the solar panel for a fraction of each second to get an average output of 13.8Volts.
An MPPT (Maximum Point Position Tracking) charge controller converts the surplus voltage into amps so that it is not wasted. The controller can be 95% effective whereas the PWM controller is only 75% efficient. (The difference between a 120Watt and 145Watt solar panel).
