Plastic Repairs
We are highly skilled in performing plastic repairs to front and rear caravan panels and rear bumpers on motorhomes. The two preferred methods are:-
Hot Staple Gun – We will repair your damage using this method. A hot staple gun will melt metal staples into the existing plastic, achieving a strong repair.
Hot Mesh Welding – Occasionally we will repair the area using a stainless steel mesh or ABS plastic rods, rejoining the polymers with a hot mesh welder, giving a permanent plastic repair.
The areas will then be primed, colour matched and painted to complete the plastic panel caravan repair, restoring the original look of the caravan.
Fibreglass Repairs
We are highly skilled in performing fibreglass repairs to front and rear caravan panels and rear bumpers on motorhomes.
Front and rear caravan panels can be made from fibreglass otherwise known as GRP (glass reinforced plastic). Although fibreglass is a strong material it can be damaged by awning poles, scratches or scrapes from walls or gateposts, weather damage, stress cracks or damage caused by road incidents.
Damage to the fibreglass panel is repaired by rebuilding the area using fibreglass matting and fibreglass resin. Filler is added to achieve a smooth finish and then a primer is applied. Fibreglass caravan repairs are finally painted, restoring the visual appeal of the caravan or motorhome.
