Caravan Chassis Service

Peace of mind for the road safety of towing your caravan

Some customers do not require a full caravan service. A caravan chassis service involves servicing the chassis and running gear of the caravan providing you with peace of mind for the road safety of yourself and other road users. This service is NOT accepted by manufacturers for caravan warranty purposes (a full caravan service would need to be completed for warranty purposes).

All caravan servicing is carried out by fully trained staff and our company has public liability insurance. The caravan chassis service can be carried out at a place to suit you, whether it be at home, on site or in storage. No longer will you have the inconvenience and expense of taking your caravan to the main dealers.

Caravan Chassis Service

Here’s what you can expect from a Caravan Chassis Service:

This includes checking and cleaning stabiliser ball and pads, check condition of breakaway cable, check for wear on coupling head and lubricate, check jockey wheel, check handbrake and lubricate, remove wheels to re-grease and replace wheel nuts to manufacturers settings, check tyres and brake drums. Check and lubricate corner steadies.
  • After a Service -Wheel bolt torques should be re-checked by the caravan owner after every 30 miles of a journey and before EVERY TRIP. Ensuring that your wheel fixings are correctly torqued is vital for your safety to ensure that the wheels do not come off in transit.

How often should I get my caravan serviced?

It is advised that you get your caravan serviced yearly. Even if your caravan is out of warranty, a service ensures that the caravan is safe for your family habitation and is roadworthy.

A single axle chassis service will take approximately 2 hours with a single engineer. If there is more than one engineer it will take less time. A twin axle caravan will take slightly longer.

How do I prepare my caravan for a chassis service?

You will need to remove all security (hitch lock, wheel lock etc) before the service. Clear access is needed with a minimum of 1m around the caravan.

Can you service on a storage site?

Yes. Please advise us of this at the time of booking. Please also contact the site owner to confirm access arrangements with them.
